secluded campsite

American Heritage Campground is nestled in 25 acres of pristine evergeen forest.
Our campground is said by many to be "one of the nicest parks they've camped in". Campsites are spacious and secluded. Some are in an open grassy area. Hookups include electric, water, & sewer. Our tent camping sites are available with or without hookups. All campsites come with a picnic table and campfire area.

nightly wagon ride American Heritage Campground is fortunate to have customers who have been camping here for generations. The Heck family is honored to have guests who keep returning year after year. Parents who camped here as children are now bringing their kids to continue the camping tradition. Grandparents love to bring their grandkids camping here. It's a beautiful place for kids of all ages to enjoy, and if the kids are happy, everyone is happy!

Summertime at the park includes daily activities that are fun for families. A heated outdoor swimming pool (Mid June - Labor Day Weekend), a paved riding track for your bicycles, an animal viewing farm with chickens, ducks, and Sheep. Monday thru Saturday there is a free evening wagon ride (Memorial Day - Labor Day). There is a big playground. There is a playfield, volleyball and horseshoe pits available.

playground American Heritage Campground is located six miles south of Olympia,
just ½ mile east of Interstate 5. The majority of our customers use this park as a destination, with days spent relaxing at the park and making memories. Those who happen upon this Campground while traveling have been known to change their plans and stay several days. American Heritage Campground is also a great 'home base' location for visits to Olympia's many attractions and events, including those of the greater Puget Sound area.

Opening weekend each year is Memorial Day Weekend, and the park is open through Labor Day weekend. American Heritage Campground hosts tent campers in the summertime, and RV guests year round, but with limited facilities October through April.
